AI Visibility Check
How well a site is set up to be found and quoted by AI assistants like ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews.
Illustrative example: the seven signals the check scores and the points each one carries, from AI crawler access at 25 to technical hygiene at 5.
Step 2 of 4The check
It reads what is public on the site today
It reads robots.txt, your structured data and sitemap, and up to three inner pages, then scores the seven signals.

Step 3 of 4Your score
AI Visibility Check
Illustrative example resultWorkable: yourwebsite.com.au
The foundations are there. A few fixable gaps are costing visibility.
Checked 4 pages, not just the homepage: the homepage, /services, /about, /contact.
Seven signals, weighted by how much each one matters. Crawler access carries 25 points, because a blocked crawler makes everything else irrelevant. Technical hygiene carries 5.

Step 4 of 4Full report
Your full report
You can see what scored badly. The report explains why each one scored what it did and what to change, starting with the fix worth the most points.
This score is a snapshot in time, not a final audit. It reads what is public on the site today, and some items need a closer look before anything is decided.
AI readiness
The seven signals we check before we write a strategy
We score every site against seven signals that decide whether assistants can read your site and quote it. The weights are ours and we publish them, because a number you cannot interrogate is not worth much.
-
AI crawler access, 25 points
Whether GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot and Google-Extended are allowed in at all. Block these and the other six stop mattering.
-
Structured data, 20 points
Whether an assistant can resolve who you are, what you sell and where you operate without inferring it from prose.
-
Answerable content, 15 points
Whether the page holds passages that answer a question cleanly enough to be lifted.
-
Crawlability and freshness, 15 points
Whether the sitemap is reachable and current, canonicals are right, and pages return the status they should.
-
Entity clarity, 10 points
Whether your name, address, phone number and profile links agree with each other everywhere they appear.
-
An llms.txt file, 10 points
Whether you hand assistants a map of the site you wrote yourself, or leave them to guess.
-
Technical hygiene, 5 points
HTTPS, mobile rendering, response time. Table stakes, weighted low on purpose.
-
Every one of these is checkable from files anyone can read. None of them is an estimate, and none of them costs anything to verify.

Glossary
The terms, defined
The vocabulary, without the mystique. If an agency uses these words at you without defining them, ask.

Grounding
When an assistant fetches live sources instead of answering from training data alone. An ungrounded answer cannot cite you at all.
Citation
The named source shown alongside a generated answer. Being retrieved and not cited is a distinct failure, and a more common one than not being retrieved.
AI Overview
The summarised answer Google places above its ranked results.
AI Mode
Google's conversational search surface, where the ranked list is not the primary output.
GEO, generative engine optimisation
Competing to be the source an AI answer draws on, where there is no page and no position to hold. The technical groundwork overlaps heavily with SEO, which is why we do not sell it separately.
llms.txt
A plain text file at the root of a site that hands assistants a map of what matters, written by you rather than guessed at. An emerging convention, quick to put in place, and still rare.
Structured data
Machine readable markup stating what a page is about. It is how a system resolves your business without inferring it from your prose.
Entity
How a system stores you as a thing rather than as a string of characters. Weak entity signals produce answers that are confident and wrong.
Rather talk it through?

Schedule a 15-minute call (opens in a new tab)This measures AI readiness - how well the site is structured for assistants to crawl, parse and quote. It does not check whether the brand is currently cited in ChatGPT or any other assistant. It also does not tell you whether the site appears in Google AI Overviews.
You’re almost ready. Let’s finalise a few details.
Arrange a time for a no-obligation audit to understand where you stand in your market. You'll be surprised how much research we do before we speak to you.
